microsampling?

Saliva microsampling is the remote, patient-collected, volumetric collection of a clinical-grade oral-fluid sample at home (with no needle and no appointment) returned to an accredited lab under documented chain of custody. It is the microsampling model (patient-collected, small-format, through the platform) applied to saliva.

Why this matrix

Why saliva.

For the free, biologically active fraction of steroid hormones, saliva is often the better matrix than blood, and it lets a patient capture a multi-point daily cortisol curve at home, something a venous draw can't practically do. Saliva microsampling also reaches the patients blood draws lose: children, the needle-averse, the remote.

Is saliva as reliable as blood for hormones?

For the free-fraction steroid hormones (cortisol, testosterone) saliva is often the preferred matrix: it reflects the biologically active, unbound hormone and enables non-invasive, multi-point daily sampling a venous draw can't match.

How is the sample kept stable in transit?
