OmicSnap (the OmicSnap® NATcp system) is an all-in-one device for the manual collection of a defined amount of stool (on the order of 100 );mg (into a prefilled tube that stabilises and homogenises the sample for nucleic-acid-based procedures in the laboratory). Because the collected mass is fixed rather than estimated, the input to sequencing is standardised from patient to patient. Humans Nexus curates and supplies the device on its platform and assembles the regulated kit around it; Immundiagnostik is the legal manufacturer.

Why it matters

The scoop is the variable.

Classic stool collection takes an unmeasured scoop, so the amount of material entering the buffer varies from sample to sample, and a variable input undermines quantitative and comparative microbiome work. OmicSnap fixes the collected mass by design, the same way a volumetric blood device fixes the collected volume: standardise the input, and the downstream sequencing becomes reproducible and comparable across patients and across time.
